Carbon monoxide (CO)

Brid XXL was placed in a 17,5 ft3 ermetic reactor. As source of Carbon Monoxide were used exhaust fumes of an actual petrol-powered car. And electrochemical-type sensor with sensitivity of 1ppm was used to monitor the concentration of Carbon Monoxide. The result is an exponential decay with a transformation half-life of 210 min.

Pollution reduction (NOx)

The test was carried out by placing BRID XXL in a 35 ft³ glove box and polluting the air inside with a controlled amount of NOx at a 100 ppb concentration, above the legal limit. The measurement was taken using chemiluminescence technology with the Thermo Model 42i, at a sampling interval of 10 s for 90 minutes.

BRID was placed in a furnished 775 ft3 room. The test was performed in accordance to the procedure described in UNI EN ISO 14644-1:2016. The operator of sampling remained in the area in object only for the time strictly necessary to the test execution and taking all the precautions required by company procedures. The operator has positioned the instrument and hence proceeded in sampling in 6 different areas. For each location the sampling was made positioning the probe facing airflow and keeping the instrument at the work surface height (approx. 90 cm from the ground).

Brid XXL was placed in a 17,5 ft3 ermetic reactor filled with vaporized ethanol. A FID sensor with 1 ppm resolution was used to monitor its concentration. The result is an exponential decay with a transformation half-life of 385 min.

Bacteria and fungi

BRID was placed in a furnished 775 ft3 room. The test was performed in accordance to the procedure described in UNI EN ISO 14644-1:2016. For determination of microbial charge, the following media have been used: - Triptone Soia Agar (TSA) for bacteria - Sabourad Agar (SAB) for fungi The instrument aspirates air at a steady velocity through a perforated head for a certain amount time, which is functional to the air volume to be sampled (200 litres for each sampling point). The laminar air flow is directed on the surface of a plate containing agar nutrient soil. For each point, two samplings are taken, one with a TSA plate and another with SAB plate. At the end of the sampling cycle the plate is removed, identified and transferred in the transport container. The TSA plates were incubated in a 31°C thermostat for 3 days for bacteria revelation and the SAB ones at 22,5°C for 5 days for fungi determination. Following the incubation period, the number of colonies grown on the plate surface is counted.
